Review: Dark Elf, I-No, Ezio..

Ok, so I collect figurines. It's a healthy hobby. :)
Here's a few review I did of some of them.
My pictures are quite simple as I just use them to (literally) illustrate my point. I am learning to take better pics though, so I hope to improve.

I review Good Smile Company Lineage 2 Dark Elf. Yay.
____________________________________________________

Lineage 2 is not a game that I am familiar with. All I know about it is that it's a Korean made fantasy MMORPG filled with pretty fantasy people.
Oh, and it has a figure based on one of the pretty fantasy people.
Which I just got.:P
She put up quite a fight, but I got her now! Bwahaha!

Anyway, review.

This figure was limitedly available through lucky draws for people who brought the game, it was also released for limited public sale.
Due to public demand, she was rereleased, again in limited quantity.
NCSoft, the game company seemed to wanted to keep it limited, hence the small volume.

The figure is based on a generic, unnamed dark elf design from the game.
Even the packaging just mentions Dark Elf Female. No mention of the sculptor.

She is scaled at 1/8, though there is a garage kit scaled at 1/6 that is by G.O of Cerberus Project.
Maybe that is the sculptor?

There is plenty of details on the armor. Good consistency for its scale.

There is subtle shading on the skin, just enough to accentuate her already prominent bodily curvature.

This picture is strictly to show the shading. Yups, just for the shading.

The Dark Elf in the game has purplish black blue skin though, so this skin color scheme was a point of complaint for fans of the game.
But I don't play the game so, whatever.

Pose can be adjusted to a variety of view so you can choose whichever one.

I really like her face. Has a bit of a neutral look that can be translated as intense and/or cold. Also can pass as a hot librarian look with that bun she sports.:P

Just needs spectacles..

Base is removable. Simple black disc with the name of the game. Nothing special.

Her mantle thing she wears at the hips can be removed, while her weapon comes unattached.

Up to you wether to let her wear it or not.

Or..

SuperBabe.

It is easy enough to put on or off so you can make up your mind anytime. :P

The handle of her weapon, Sword Of Miracles is permanently attached to her hand, so no weapon swapping.

This picture is strictly to show the handle. Yups, just for the handle.

It attaches easily enough, but taking it off again is hard as it is kinda tight and you'd be afraid of breaking the inserted ends.
I don't recommend playing with it too much.
Once you attach it, there's not much reason to take it off again unless you wanna put her back in the box, which I also don't recommend. :P

More pics. :)

So, after all that to get her, is she worth it?
It's a "Yes" from me. :)
The figure design and pose is nice. Great detailing and a pretty face wins it for me.:)

I review Max Factory Guilty Gear I-No. Yay.
___________________________________________

I've been looking for this figure a while now. After searching high, low and eBay, I finally found her.
So Yay, I got her. Finally. :)

Anyway, review.:)

I-No is from the fighting game Guilty Gear.
She fight using a projectile shooting guitar while wearing a costume that offers no protection whatsoever from fist, kicks, swords and/or roving eyes. lol.
That's about all you need to know about where she is from. :P

She's scaled at 1/7 so she's quite large, and so is the box she came in with.

Usual Max Factory design though this one has more color in black and red.

The front and back show closeups of the figure.
It shows the prototype version, so the base is not pictured.

Sculpted by REFLECT, she pose in an exquisite stance.

Very poseable in a few angle, though only some really work well.
REFLECT personal style really meshed well with I-No's character design.

(Kinda defeats the purpose of wearing a skirt, doesn't it..?)

REFLECT made a lot of details in the sculpt.
From her buckles to the creases of the costume, if it should be there, it's there.

Hat is not removable.
Not complaining, but it would have been nice if there was a way to pose her without the hat.

Some would say that she should be exposed.
In the original garage kit, she actually was peeking out.
But Max Factory (wisely?) decided to make some alteration.
It does tone down the sexiness point a bit, but people would still be asking
"Uh, shouldn't she be exposed like that?"
You could say it was really tucked in there.

The paintwork and detailing of are simply amazing.
The paint used is glossy, showing the pvc/leather(?) of the costume, while the details such as buckles, zips and borders are painted with minimal bleeding.

Look at the tight coloring on the buckles.

If we wanna talk details, just look at the guitar.

IT HAS STRINGS! ACTUAL STRINGS!
You can't play a tune on it though.

The prototype has not strings. Max Factory decided to put some on, for better or worse.
It is kinda stressing to put the guitar in the same position as the pics, as you are worried to snap any of the strings.

But she just looks weird without the guitar. Her arm is just hanging there.

I-No. Just hanging around. LOL.

The strings aren't really that fragile, but you don't wanna take a chance, y' know.
The guitar also looks a bit different from the prototype pic.
Maybe it's adjustable. Tried to move it, but it is hard and I don't wanna test it to the breaking point.

The base is a square metallic design.
Don't know if it fits with the character much, but at least it is something different from the boring plain white bases Max Factory usually does.

Disclaimer; people doing acrobatic moves in heels that high only exist in fiction. Or porn.
Or she is Lady Gaga.

I-No is a high quality figure, regardless wether if you know or don't know the character.
Everything is top notch. Everything left is just subjective.
I would recommend it. :)

I review Assassin's Creed II Limited Edition Pack Figure. Yay.
______________________________________________________________

This is the figure that comes with the limited edition of the Assassin's Creed 2 game. It has 2 version; a white one and a black one. The black one is the more rare of the two.
I got the white one.
Some people have no interest in the figure but I play games and I collect figures. So..

He has eyes btw.

Anyway, review.

The figure is of Assassin's Creed 2 main character; Ezio.
This being a promo deal, I was not expecting much of the figure, so I opened the package with said mindset.

The figure looks good displayed in the box itself.

It has a large window that shows pretty much of the figure from the front and the back of the box also has a window to show the packaged game.

If you take the game out, you can let more light in and see the figure from front to back without even taking it out.:P

The figure is made from plastic(PVC?).
The pose is based from the cover. It's not the most dynamic pose you'd expect from an assassin, but not absolutely boring. It works.

Seriously, does he walk around town like this?

Ezio comes permanently attached to his base. The base is made to look like bricks, making it looks like he is supposed to walk around the city or something.

Apparently he is a good enough thief to steal a pavement as well. Nice boots.

Underside of the base has the name of the game, in case you forgot where the figure is from. ;P

Not an Assassin's Creed 2 Bowling Ball.

Sizewise it's about 22cm, so should be around the 1/8 scale.
It's a bit shorter compared to my figures of the same scale though.

Honey! I'm home!

So it's not really large , but not too small either.

The sculpt of the figure is detailed, from the ruffles of the clothes to the leathery creases of his cape and the multiple layer part of his shirt.

I was really impressed by the detailed sculpting but the coloring is a bit of a letdown.

Without inspecting too closely it would look fine, but upon a closer look you'd find a lot of bleeding and some unfinished part, such as the ropes holding Ezio's shoulder armor and the silver buckle of the belt.
It's a bit of a disappointing contrast when compared to the details of the sculpt.
The printed decals are sharp however.

Subtracting the cost of the game; the price you'd pay extra for this figure is not too much. If it was sold separately for the price, it would be worth it.
So if you want the game(which comes with extra maps and stuff), and like figures, I'd recommend it.
Or you just want the game with extra stuff, and don't want the figure, ebay it cheap for the figure collectors. :P

If you don't want your black figure, gimme please. :P
Seriously.
